Raphael Jimenez
Co-President of the University of Chicago Chapter
Raphael is a senior at the University of Chicago studying Economics and Public Policy with a minor in Astrophysics. Originally from Miami, Florida, he enjoys going to the beach, traveling, and attending concerts. He spends his time helping run the UChicago chapter of BlackGen, along with the university’s LGBTQ business organization.

Upon graduating this year, he will head to New York City to work at J.P. Morgan in their Global Investment Opportunities team.

John Lohier
Co-President of the University of Chicago Chapter
John is a junior at UChicago from Brooklyn, NY, majoring in Economics and Philosophy. Last summer, he worked as a Summer Associate at BCG, and this summer he’ll be interning in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Bank of America in new York

He spends his free time managing the Chicago Journal of Foreign Policy, running, and binge watching shows

Samuel Yilma
Co-Vice President of Education
Samuel is a junior at the University of Chicago studying Economics with a minor in Statistics. Originally from Rochester, MN, he enjoys sports, card games, and traveling.
This summer he will be heading to NYC to do an investment banking internship at Goldman Sachs.

Maina Ngobia
Co-Vice President of Education
Maina is a senior at UChicago from Toronto, Canada studying Economics with a minor in Data Science. He has interned at Bain Capital, Bain & Co. and upon graduation, will be returning to Goldman Sachs in New York City. Maina is also involved in MoneyThink, the Impact Investing Group, and is a member of UChicago’s national-title-winning Varsity Men’s Soccer Team.

In his free time Maina loves to explore the Chicago food scene and write/listen to poetry.

Kevin Toledo
Vice President of Recruitment
Kevin Toledo is a freshman at the University of Michigan, studying Business Administration with a minor in Computer Science. Outside of BlackGen, he serves as VP of DEI for Sigma Eta Pi Professional Entrepreneurship Fraternity and VP of Finance for the Entertainment & Media Club. Kevin is also active in other organizations such as ALPFA, Nexecon Consulting Group, and the Michigan Association of Student Councils and Honor Societies.

In his free time, Kevin enjoys riding his motorcycle, watching international soccer, and is a self-proclaimed film critic.

Sam Hatfield
Co-Vice President of Communications
Sam is a third-year at UChicago studying Economics and Data Science. Last summer, he worked at Citi and he plans on returning to intern in their Equity Capital Markets division this summer.
Originally from Midland, Michigan, Sam spends his free time playing club soccer and club golf.

Malaz Nour

Malaz is a third-year at Univeristy of Chicago majoring in Art History and Anthropology. She has interned at Christie’s in their Post-War and Contemporary Art Department, Mariane Ibrahim Gallery, Hirschl & Adler Galleries, and the Cochrane-Woods Art Center.

Originally from Khartoum, Sudan she now lives in Houston, Texas. She enjoys spending her free time with frienda and family, exploring Chicago (its coffee shops especially), and going to museums.

Yannick Tanyi
Vice President of Public Relations
Yannick is a sophomore at the University of Chicago studying Economics and Data Science. Originally from Cameroon, he enjoys filmmaking and editing, spending time with friends and family, and playing sports in his free time.
He has been working this past winter as a Real Estate intern with Project Destined and will be working as a Data Automation intern for Springer Capital in the spring.

Kevin Adoboe
Vice President of Finance
Kevin is a junior at UChicago majoring in Economics. Originally from Togo, he now lives in Chicago. This past summer he worked at Arm, researching AI/ML Large Language Model expansion into CPUs. Previously, he was a summer analyst at AQR Capital Management.
Outside of BlackGen, he spends his time listening to podcasts, lifting, and playing the guitar.
